“I take the time to put as much realism as I can into each piece. I try to put in the details that make the stuffed dog realistic and comforting for the owner.”
Creating lifelike animals since 1983
Kathy started as an artist doing paintings, ceramics, and jewelry. But after her son was born Kathy started making stuffed animals for him. That led to the craft shows and wholesale to stores. A hobby turned out to be a manufacturing company that competed with large national stuffed animal companies. Even then Kathy always pushed for realism in the animals that she designed, always researching each animal that was designed. Kathy’s animals have been in TV shows, and in the movies, even in plays on Broadway
Now I am back as an artist designing custom and one of a kind dog. I take the time to put as much realism as I can in each piece. I try to put in the details that make the stuffed dog comforting for the owner. But the most gratifying is helping grieving people who have lost their best four-legged friend. I am told time and again how my dogs have helped the grieving process.

“Many people find that my sculptural stuffed dogs are good therapy dog or a substitute for the real thing.” Collectors can witness the birth of a soft-sculpture piece from start to finish. Kathy hopes to chronicle through various media platforms how raw materials end up as realistic puppy proxy.
